The 2009 Teacher training six weekend program has been completed
please check
the Immersion page as it is Part 1 of the next teacher training series.
The North Raleigh 2009 Teacher Training Series
The North Raleigh teacher training is designed
for both yoga students who want to learn to teach and for current yoga teachers who
want to hone their skills and expand their qualifications. Patience is both a Yoga
Alliance Registered teacher at the highest level (E-RYT 500) and a Certified Anusara
Yoga Instructor. She has taken over 500 contact hours with John
Friend Anusara's founder and was personally mentored through certification by him which
was both a distinct honor and an incredible challenge. Patience brings to this
program all his teachings along with a clarity, organization and love for teaching
that will create the most skillful and knowledgeable teachers in the area. By
itself, the program will provide students with the tools to help their students with
many therapeutic and alignment needs while uplifting their hearts. When this
72 hour, seven weekend program combines with the 108 hour, nine weekend Anusara Immersion
program it meets all the requirements for the Yoga Alliance RYT 200 certification. In
the teacher training students can expect to study teaching methodology and practicum,
anatomy and physiology, assists and adjustments, class planning and sequencing, the
business and ethics of teaching, as well as some yoga history and philosophy. The
Immersion program goes deeper into the heart in the study of the lineage of Anusara
philosophy, Sanskrit terminology, subtle body anatomy, study of scriptures, alignment
and practice. Whether you have already taken the Immersion, are
entering the Teacher Training first or selecting to just take the teacher training alone,
you can expect your heart to be expanded and your competence as a teacher and yoga practitioner
to excel.

This training will be extremely clear and comprehensive. Each
of you will get individual attention that will not only make you the best teachers you
can be but that will improve your own personal yoga practices. Homework will be required
including reading (book list below) keeping a home practice and meditation log, tests
and written papers. At the successful completion of this 72 contact hour program
each student will receive a teaching certificate and recommendations as teachers. If
students successfully complete this program and the 108 contact hour Immersion program
combined then they will receive a certificate to submit to Yoga Alliance to apply for
their RYT 200 certification. There will be another Immersion program following
this teacher training so that students who choose to continue to get the RYT 200 certification
will be able to complete all the required hours.

Patience Armstrong is known for bringing the teachings
of yoga off the mat into how we approach life in general. Her clear systematic teaching
style makes even complicated information accessible. She had the unique experience
of being mentored through the certification process by John Friend, Anusara’s
founder. She is deeply indebted to him for all his teachings and for helping her
to open her heart to the loving light of Grace. Patience is a Yoga Alliance Registered
teacher at the E-RYT 500 level. If you are a teacher or are aspiring to become one,
immersion hours with Patience can be accredited toward Anusara Inspired licensing
and prerequisite hours for Anusara teacher training and certification, as well as
extended education hours through Yoga Alliance. If teaching is not part of your journey,
Patience will guide you to deepen your practice and connect to the true teacher within.
